The minutes of the Jan 19th, 2012 meeting of the KC Northern Knights Model Airplane Club

President Gary Himes called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm

A big thanks to Dave Stadler for his quick reaction to the chili spill that landed on Gary Himes leg, prevented a much more serious burn.

    New Business:

It was voted on to donate $150 to the church again this year for use of their facility.

Henry brought up the idea of having an open to the public fun fly to promote the club, having a glider for all the kids, the kits would be donated by Hobby Town USA on North Oak. A possible date of June was looked into.

It was decided to continue our regular Friday night combat and the new Fast N Furious planes will be allowed to compete with the military planes but they have to meet the same rules: 2 cell battery, 2 servos and the same wingspan.

Dates were agreed on for Elkhorn on May 25-28th, Pro Bro on July 20-21st, hope the heat leaves us alone this year, July 4th will be a club day at the field w/clean up day before the public comes in. The fall Elkhorn will be Oct 5,6 and 7th.

    Safety:

Pete to remind everyone flying electrics that they can be at full power when they come on, a safety plug like featured in Model Aviation is recommended, the unit is called Arm Safe. Fuel powered planes will stall at idle but not electrics, so be careful !
