New Business: Contributions to the $1 raffle were, Bob Greene, screw driver set, Ed Morrow, hobby knife set. Mike Coyne looked at the roof and reported that it would need about 30 min. to fix. We will look to have a fall swap shop instead of the spring this time. Remember the Pro Bro the 23rd-25th of July. Gary needs help with the cooking, if you can help please let him know.

Letter From the President Normally I am really good about getting my article to Ron for the newsletter. This month, however, blew me away. I thought Ron was off his rocker, it can't be time for meeting yet. Where did this month go? Guess I have been busy this month. Let's see, married off a nephew, attend the Bolivar Pro Bro, attended my 40th class reunion and now the 4th of July is at hand. Guess that's where all the time went!
Work on 96th street is still progressing and our alternative drive is in use. They now have the road bed raised about 20 ft in front of the driveway now. Don't worry, they will take care of our drive as well. The latest report I got from the Construction company says they are on schedule to be complete by winter and we will be back to normal.
Ron Carroll single handedly removed the plastic from the shelter the weekend the rest of us was at Elkhorn having tons of fun. Thanks Ron! Also, thanks to Larry Johnson for stowing the lumber strips used to hold the plastic up!
July 23 thru 25 is our Pro Bro Event, and will be here in just a couple of weeks. The landing fee for Pilots is $25. This will get them 4 meals and drinks for the weekend. Friday night the wife and I are donating sloppy Joes for supper. Saturday breakfast will be biscuits and gravy. Lunch will be burgers and chips, and supper will be a Fish Fry. If you don't want to fly but want to watch you may still purchase the meals. Friday supper, Saturday breakfast and lunch will all be $5 person. Saturday Supper (fish fry) will be $10 person. The fish cost more and is reflected in the price difference. I want to make sure there is plenty of food for the "Bros" and other pilots paying the landing fee. Therefore, I need to establish a head count for the meals at least one week before the event. If you are planning on eating but not flying please contact me and let me know!
There will also be a raffle for $1 per ticket. Also we will have construction lights to fly under on both Friday and Saturday nights. Thanks to Greg Lee for getting the light use donated to us. Any one interested in helping, please talk to me.
Friday nights have been full of combat with racing falling by the way side. It seems the WWII style combat is King on Friday nights. We even have a couple of new guys who fingers are just itching to get hold of a combater!
I have heard rumblings that some of you would like to have a Club Fun Fly. Gentlemen, I am all for that but do not have time to run the event. If you are interested in running a Club Fun Fly please come to the meeting and speak up. We can give you ideas on events or you could dream up your own. Just remember the event should be do able by the average Joe. I am sure that if you speak up we can get you help, you don't have to do everything on your own.
As I am writing this, the last few days have been wonderfully mild. Previously to that it was extreme heat and it will return soon. So, in closing, get out and enjoy the good ole summertime flying, just make sure you keep your self hydrated and safe.
HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT 4TH OF JULY!
Northern Knights Dates to remember: July 23,24 & 25 NK Pro Bro October 1 & 2 is Fall Elkhorn Event
